Although I'm a musician, my exposure to Encinitas' headset microphone actually started with my hobby as a gamer. The Headset microphone, you see, is not really normal use in rock 'n roll music. Most people don't really believe in them. First of all, they don't look that cool to a lot of people. Second of all, people are used to heavy, substantial mics. Most people don't believe that a little mic like that will do anything. Nonetheless, when I bough a little gaming mic headset, I was really impressed with the quality of the sound.

That little Encinitas' wireless headset microphone had a lot of clarity, and although it didn't really have enough body to work as a vocal mic for a professional musician, it made me curious about higher-quality headsets. I went to a local music store and tried out several headset microphones. I was really amazed. I decided to go for broke and buy a cordless microphone that I could use for performing. That way, I could dance around and sing on stage without worrying about tangling cords or losing the sound. I was a little bit worried that I would have trouble keeping the headset microphone in place, but I shouldn't have been.

Everything turned out great. Headset microphones in San Diego are usually pretty well designed ergonomically. If you have a chance to try one on before you buy it, make sure to dance around a little bit. If it fits you properly, it should stay almost completely in place. Mine gave me great sound quality throughout my whole show. I had no problem at all with it slipping, and got some of the best vocal miking I had ever experienced. And I needn't have worried about that headset microphone looking silly there. It was actually barely visible.

One decision about headset with microphone in San Diego that I hadn't thought about was whether to get one with earphones or not. I figured that I didn't really need earphones to play music and, technically speaking, I read didn't. I got some. Nonetheless, when I invested in a different headset mic, and was totally surprised by the possibilities. Instead of using a monitor, I could hear everything directly in the earphones. Not only did this cut down on the amount of gear I had to have with me, but it allowed me to get a clearer image of what our performance sounded like. And it was cheaper! Several sets of good headphones cost less than a few monitors for the band.
