Review of Wp Wishlist Member
Should you buy the WP Wishlist for WordPress Membership Site Management?
Instead of reviewing the WP Wishlist, let me first say that it is excellent. I use it on multiple membership websites and it is the fastest, easiest way to build a membership site and manage your members. This is especially true if you are proficient with WordPress as a publishing platform.
But wait a minute - keep reading.
Why? It has nothing to do with the WP Wishlist.
Before I talk about Wishlist I want to say that membership sites are not super easy. In fact, setting up a membership website is harder than you probably realize. It takes time to develop the content and it takes time to market your membership site. You will find a lot of people on the web talking about what a great business model it is and how easy it is. Don't get all excited about membership sites yet. It is not easy to set up a membership site, market the membership site, manage the members of the membership site and add fresh content to the membership site on a regular basis.
Get a bunch of paying members in your site and your problems go away. But what are you going to do if you are making $200 a month after a couple of months? Are you going to keep at it long term or give up? You certainly cannot pay other people much more content and marketing.
If you are serious about doing a Premium WordPress Membership Plugin, then you need to worry as little as possible about the technology. I went through five different technologies before finding WP Wishlist Member. I used Joomla, Moodle, Ning, Drupal and the WordPress Free Membership Pluging before I got WP Wishlist and simplified my life. Buy Wishlist Member and Shopping Cart and set it up. Then forget about the technology and focus on great content and marketing your membership site like a madman.
As noted above, WP Wishlist was my 6th membership site software solution I tried before I finally found something I could work with. I tried free membership site tools and other paid membership site options - and Wishlist Member was the fastest, simplest and let me forget about the management of membership and content.
Had I used WP Wishlist first, I would have been able to start doing more marketing six months earlier and made a lot more money. It is critical to keep as much of your time free for content creation and marketing as possible.
Here are some features I love about WP Wishlist
- Email to Members
- Membership Levels
- Plug in and activate - Instant Membership site
Another added bonus is that I bought the muli-site license and now I can launch a membership site in a matter of an hour or less. This means I can toss together a great bonus any time I need to. I use it as an upsell for several different products and programs and it costs me nothing extra.
